ELW will be doing Meals on Wheels from June 17 to the 29th.
There are Rag Wreaths and quilts displayed in the narthex. The wreaths are made from leftover material from the quilts that are made here. These are priced to sell. There are also full-sized quilts available if you would like to see them contact Alice Hennig at 306-773-6759.
The quilting ladies have completed their task of making 100 quilts for the Salvation Army to give away to individuals and families that come out to their programs. Sunday, June 23, there will be a blessing of the quilts, and some will be displayed for all to see.
Tuesday June 25 Pastor Patti is launching, SUMMERTIME SOCIALS a low-key opportunity to sit on a deck and enjoy each other’s company and a brief Bible discussion. It will run for 10 weeks, and you are invited to attend one or all that are available to you. We will meet at various parishioners' homes. Sharon Lang has offered to host the first one at 7:00pm. Call Pastor Patti at 306-537-4960 if you plan to attend.
June 21: Marcus Braun is releasing a new song and is putting on a concert at East Side Church of God at 8:00pm.
The Fellowship of Christian Farmers are giving away these walking sticks, their way of presenting the good news of God’s love. Each stick has 5 colored beads that each represent a truth of the Gospel Story. They will have a booth at Frontier Days and are also looking for volunteers to help man the booth. More info is in the pamphlet, which is posted on the white board.
Muffins for the Family Resource Centre “Summer Meal Program,” need 17 dozen by July 3. Sign-up sheet on the white board.
We are collecting gently used Christian books for the Christian Salvage Mission who delivers overseas. We will deliver the items at the end of June to the depot in Regina. A box marked CSM will be available in the narthex if you so wish to donate.
The Swift Current Public Library wants the public to know they will be open on Sundays, starting on June 2. They will be offering a Scrabble Club from 2:00 to 4:00 on Sunday afternoons. There is a poster up on the whiteboard with more details.
June 22 and 23: Sask Power Windscape Kite festival are looking for Volunteers. There are volunteer handouts at the back of the church.
June 20 to the 22: Long Days Night Music Festival is on in conjunction with the Kite Festival.
